At this gorgeous Bloomfield Hills home, our client wanted a landscape that accents the design of their new construction house. We wanted to provide them with a modern look that matched the sleek exterior of their home. Different layers, heights, dimensions, and placements of plantings played a large role in this design, making it complex yet clean.
Lush green Boxwoods form thoughtful designs within the landscape, with taller Moon Yews in the back, surrounded by colorful perennials and dark mulch. The contrast in colors is purposeful, to draw attention to the dark and light features of the home. Blocked plantings of Hydrangeas, Catmint (Nepeta), Astilbe, and Japanese Forest Grass provide different flowering types and timing. Mature Arborvitaes and Columnar Norway Spruces stand at the corners of our design to accent the height of the home, while rounder, softer shrubs at the entrance create a warm and inviting feeling.
The combination of different types of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees allows for year-round blooms and variation in color. The overall goal of this design is to create a stunning visual from the street and to give this beautiful home the landscape it deserves.
