Arbor Day 2026 was celebrated on April 24th. This year, we partnered with Ray Wiegand’s Nursery to donate an Autumn Blaze Maple Tree to Mohawk Elementary School in Macomb, Michigan. We are so happy to continue our annual tradition of Earth Day/Arbor Day tree plantings.

Arbor Day is an annual celebration of trees and their value to our planet, on the last Friday in April. The first Arbor Day occurred on April 10, 1872, in Nebraska City, Nebraska and it’s estimated that nearly one million trees were planted on this day alone!

This year, our tree planting was amazing! Mohawk’s 5th-grade class is full of great learners, and they were all very invested in our presentation about Arbor Day and helping plant the tree. We showed the students the best practices in planting a tree and had a discussion about the importance of trees to our environment. We were so glad to meet such a strong group of students and to get them excited about trees, our planet, and how to take care of it, because we only get one Earth.

If you’re looking to participate in ongoing Earth and Arbor Day celebrations; Earth Fest 2026 is May 3rd!
